El objetivo de esta tesis es desarrollar el prototipo de guante electrónico con interpretación lenguaje de señas para sordos en el lenguaje de programación Arduino en la Asociación de Sordos, destinados a mejorar la comunicación de personas sordomudas. Esta investigación se enmarca en la búsqueda de soluciones tecnológicas accesibles y efectivas que aborden los desafíos específicos que enfrentan las personas con discapacidades auditivas. Se efectuó una investigación que se ha desarrollado es de nivel aplicativo y tipo cuantitativo. El método de investigación es de tipo tecnológico experimental en la cual para el diseño y circuito electrónico del prototipo se utiliza el Tinkercad, programar el firmware en el IDE de Arduino y para la construcción del prototipo del guante electrónico se utiliza sensores de flexión para capturar los gestos de la mano y los dedos del usuario. Estos gestos se procesan a través de un microcontrolador Arduino, que los traduce en señales visuales comprensibles. La retroalimentación visual se proporciona mediante una pantalla LED incorporada en los guantes, que muestra letras o palabras. La evaluación de la efectividad y la usabilidad de los guantes electrónicos se realiza a través de pruebas con usuarios y expertos en el campo de la comunicación para personas sordomudas. Se recopilan datos cuantitativos para evaluar la precisión de la detección de gestos, la comprensión de los mensajes transmitidos y la experiencia general del usuario. El prototipo de guante electrónico con interpretación de lengua de señas para sordos en Arduino ofrece una solución accesible y personalizable que tiene el potencial de mejorar significativamente la calidad de vida y la comunicación de las personas con discapacidades auditivas y del habla. Los resultados de esta investigación contribuyen al campo de la tecnología asistiva y promueven un enfoque inclusivo en la innovación tecnológica.
