Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y actitud del paciente sobre el autocuidado del acceso vascular que recibe tratamiento de hemodiálisis. Métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo simple con 32 pacientes que reciben tratamiento de hemodiálisis del Hospital Nivel II EsSalud Huánuco, durante el periodo 2017. Se empleó dos cuestionarios, uno para medir el conocimiento y otro para las actitudes. En el análisis inferencial de los resultados se utilizó la Prueba Chi cuadrado para una muestra.
Resultados: El 81,3% (26 pacientes) tuvieron nivel de conocimiento bueno sobre el autocuidado del acceso vascular y el 78,1% (25 pacientes) manifestaron actitudes positivas sobre el autocuidado del acceso vascular. Al aplicar la prueba de Chi cuadrad de comparación de frecuencias, se hallaron diferencias significativas estadísticamente (P≤0,05), predominando el nivel de conocimiento bueno y una actitud positiva.
Conclusiones: Existe predominio de conocimiento bueno y actitud positiva sobre el autocuidado del acceso vascular de los pacientes que reciben tratamiento de hemodiálisis del Hospital Nivel II EsSALUD Huánuco.
